With gently steamed chicken, brown rice, veg, and turmeric, this canine classic is ideal for healthy digestive function.
This recipe is a simplified version of our ready made Cotswold Chicken Chow recipe, and it is a great recipe for dogs with delicate digestions as it is full of easily digested protein, and it's low fat level make it suitable for dogs on reduced calorie diets.

With 11% protein and only 5% fat, this recipe has an energy density of 125kcal per kg, making it relatively low-energy and therefore ideal for dogs on a restricted calorie diet for weight loss or maintenance reasons. The addition of turmeric also provides anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, and digestive health benefits to this recipe.

325g Chicken mince

130g Brown rice

30g Chicken liver

50g Broccoli

50g Frozen peas

10g VetChef Everyday Adult Supplement

1g Turmeric

Ready made version
Directions
Add the brown rice to a pan and add enough water to cover with approx 2cm water on top of the rice
Bring to the boil and simmer for 25-30 minutes until tender adding more water if necessary
Chop the liver into small pieces and gently fry with the mince until cooked through and lightly browned
Dice the broccoli and steam for 5-7 minutes with the frozen peans until both are lightly cooked
Drain any remaining water from the rice and mix in with the meat and veg
Allow to cool before adding in the VetChef supplement
Store in the fridge and use within 5 days, or freeze on the day of cooking
Recipe Note
Some dogs find the taste of turmeric a little strong, so if your dog doesn't seem to be enjoying this recipe, try reducing or even leaving out the turmeric.
