Braised Beef with Spinach & Pasta

This recipe is an easy-to-cook version of our ready made Braised Beef with Spinach & Pasta recipe, and delivers excellent, well-balanced nutrition suitable for all adult dogs.

This recipe has a good level of protein (12.6%) and 8.7% fat, plus just over 7% carbohydrate, mainly from the pasta. The energy density of 143kcal per kg as a little lower than other beef recipes, so this is a great all-rounder recipe ideal for everyday feeding.

Available ready made?
Finely dice the liver and kidney, add to a frying pan with the beef mince and cook gently until cooked through and lightly browned
Meanwhile, cook the pasta in a large pan of water until tender then take off the heat and drain any excess water
Chop up the spinach and tomato and add into the hot pasta along with the egg, mix thoroughly
Add in the cooked meat, mix well and allow to cool
Mix in the hempseed oil and VetChef supplement
Store in the fridge and use within 5 days, or freeze on the day of cooking
Hempseed oil is a great ingredient as it is rich in the essential fatty acid linoleic acid which can be lacking in beef recipes - however it is possible to substitute vegetable oil or olive oil for the hempseed oil if it is not available.
